FAQ

How does Antmart work?

Antmart sources deals from suppliers of business and products and services throughout Australia.

We guarantee these suppliers a minimum number of sales.

In return, they are able to offer amazing discounts — from 30% to 85% off the advertised price!

It’s called ‘collective’ or ‘group’ buying.

How can we guarantee a ‘minimum number of sales’?

A deal will only go ahead once a certain number of people have committed to the deal by making a purchase.

When a minimum number of people buy the deal, it ‘tips’ (i.e. activates) and everyone gets the discount!

What if it doesn’t ‘tip’?

Antmart customers only pay once the deal ‘tips’.

If the deal doesn’t ‘tip’, it doesn’t go ahead and no-one gets charged.

But it hasn’t tipped and I have received a purchase receipt?

When you register for a deal, a hold is put on your credit card or PayPal account for the purchase price. If the deal tips, Antmart will process that payment. If it doesn’t, Antmart won’t process the payment and the purchase price will be immediately refunded to you. You will receive a receipt because Antmart has put a hold on your card/account for the purchase price. But we won’t claim the money until the deal tips.

How can I check my purchases?

Simply visit the ACCOUNT area and click ‘My Purchases‘. After the deal has concluded (and if it has tipped, of course), you will see a voucher. If you don’t see a voucher, the deal has not concluded. To find out when a deal is concluding, check the clock on the deal page.

How do I get my voucher?

See above.

Why do I have to wait until the deal concludes?

Only when the deal is over do we export all buyer and voucher data to the merchant. We do this for two reasons. When you present your voucher to the merchant to redeem your voucher and/or claim your purchase, they will then be able to verify that you are legit. We export this data in one hit after the deal has concluded to also prevent the alternative — a messy chain of emails between Antmart and the merchant. So, to redeem your voucher you’ll simply have to wait. Sorry! To find out when a deal is concluding, check the clock on the deal page.

What can I do to help it ‘tip’?

This is important. Antmart depends on customers (just like you ) to spread the word!

If you see a deal that excites you and you want it to ‘tip’, we encourage you to share the deal on Facebook, through Twitter or simply email your friends.

The more people who know about the deal the more likely it is that the deal will go ahead.

If the deal doesn’t ‘tip’, might it ever go ahead?

Occasionally, if the deal doesn’t ‘tip’ a supplier will say, ‘What the heck!’ and honour the deal anyway.

But don’t count on it! Help us spread the word!

I didn’t get my voucher. What happened?

Once the deal concludes, your voucher will be made available to you on your ACCOUNT page. (See ‘My Purchases’.) If you don’t see a voucher, the deal has not concluded. To find out when a deal is concluding, check the clock on the deal page.

Can I promote my business product or service through Antmart?

Yes, you can. But only if you meet a number of requirements.

See: Promote your business.

Why do businesses promote their deal throughs through Antmart?

There are numerous reasons why businesses choose to promote their products and services through sites like this.

Recently, Anthill Magazine documented one example: What I learnt selling panties on Spreets .

We recommend that you read it if you would like Antmart to promote your deal.

What are the main benefits of a relationship with Antmart?

Here are the top four reasons why businesses choose to work with Antmart.

1. Get targeted exposure… fast!

The Antmart network is supported by Anthill Magazine, one of Australia’s largest and most respect news sites for Australian SMEs.

Antmart’s weekly email is distributed to 14,000 business owners, a Twitter base of approximately 12,000 followers, a Facebook fan-page with over 2,500 fans and a LinkedIn Group with over 2,100 members.

2. It’s one of the cheapest forms of advertising around!

In most cases, you won’t pay to promote a deal through Antmart.

Rather, the promotion will cost you a percentage of the sale price. Compare this to traditional advertising.

That’s right. With other forms of promotion, you pay to present a message (with no guarantee of success) or you pay for clicks (with no guarantee of conversion).

3. We have a vested interest in your success!

With Antmart, we have a vested interest in the success of your deal.

We work hard to make sure that your offer is compelling to our audience to benefit you and Antmart.

We employ our own copywriting finesse to present your offer in the best light.

4. We help your offer go viral!

The entire Antmart model is designed to encourage your future customers (and our members) to do your marketing for you.

In order for a deal to ‘tip’, your product or service must be purchased by a minimum number of people.

As such, interested buyers are given an incentive to promote your deal through their own social media networks.

If they want the deal, they must spread the word.
