Who are the speakers?
As CEO/Founder of Freelancer.com and with USD$23.5m turnover in 2010, Matt Barrie was listed as the 2011 BRW Entrepreneur of The Year. Freelancer has grown to be the world’s largest outsourcing platform and won the Webby Award for employment site of the year in 2011 as well as the coveted peoples’ choice award.
Matt is an experienced educator and holds strong views on the future of online businesses and the technology space. In the past, Matt has raised over $40m for his ventures, including Freelancer.
Stuart Cook is the CEO of Zambrero. Under Stuart’s leadership Zambrero has grown from 2 to 14 stores, ultimately being listed in BRW as Australia’s Fastest Growing Franchise.
He now oversees 170 staff and over $10m revenue. Stuart’s expertise focuses on the keys that have enabled such rapid growth over the last 2 years.
Andrew Morello – Winner of The Apprentice
Andrew Morello won the first season of The Apprentice Australia and now works alongside Mark Bouris. Andrew is the head of business development at Yellow Brick Road and has been heavily involved in their recent IPO. As one of Australia’s leading salesmen and a business owner since the age of 15, Andrew is an in demand business advisor, working with some of Australia’s largest brands to help them increase their financial performance.
Andrew’s high energy, take-no-prisoners presentation style is unmistakable and will leave you thinking in a new way about the way you approach business development.
Katherine Sampson is the founder of Australia’s first sandwich bar franchise, Healthy Habits. She built the business to 23 stores and an international presence before Dymocks bought out a controlling stake in the company for a sizable sum. Katherine’s love for her business has meant she has stayed on board and still owns 20% of the company. Healthy Habits now serves over 6000 sandwiches a day, totaling over 2 million a year. Katherine is a previous winner of the My Business Magazine Overall Excellence Award and has also been a finalist in the Veuve Cliquot International Women’s Awards, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards and the Telstra Business Women’s Awards.
